Korean Heritage Resource

Founded in 2015, Korean Heritage Resource Center is committed to supporting Korean heritage event throughout the Bergen County region. KCS NJ awarded grants from Korean Foundation and Korean Cultural Service New York to establish Korean Heritage Resource Center.

With grants, KCS NJ could equip 12 traditional two sided drums (Janggu) and 2 one sided drums (Buk), 2 gongs (Jing). Also significant gifts from KCS NJ seniors members also donated instrument have been made this program possible.

Korean Heritage Resource Rental Policy
The KCS NJ Korean Community Center offers a Korean cultural resource rental service to non-profit organizations—such as schools and libraries—as well as Korean language schools, with the aim of fostering a deeper understanding of Korean culture and helping the community become more familiar with it. These resources can be utilized effectively for various Korean cultural exhibitions, educational programs, and hands-on cultural experience events.

Rental Period: Up to 2 weeks
Pick-up and Return Hours: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday only, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Rental Procedure:
Please review the Resource List provided below, complete the Rental Application Form, and email it to the designated staff member at info@kcsnj.org. A staff member will review your application and contact you shortly thereafter.

Rental Fee: The rental service itself is free of charge; however, you are required to issue and submit a Deposit Check equivalent to the total value of the items being rented (Payable to: Korean Community Services of NJ).
Return Policy: Strict adherence to the return deadline is mandatory. If items are returned past the due date, a portion of the deposit will be deducted based on the duration of the delay (1–5 days overdue: 30% deduction; 6–10 days overdue: 50% deduction; 11 days or more overdue: 100% deduction). If items are returned within the designated period and are free of loss or damage, the full deposit amount will be refunded. (In the event of loss or damage, the cost equivalent to the value of the affected items will be deducted from the deposit prior to refunding the remainder.)

Clothing Cleaning Fee: Clothing items (such as *Hanbok*) must be returned in a clean, laundered condition. (For clothing rentals, please issue and submit a separate Deposit Check specifically for cleaning fees, ranging from $10 to $50 per garment.)

Donate Korean Traditional Items to the KCS NJ Korean Community Center
To help revitalize the KCS NJ Korean Traditional Culture Programs, we are currently accepting donations of Korean traditional items as listed below. We warmly invite and encourage anyone interested to participate in this donation drive. Required Items:
*All items must be in good, usable condition.*
Traditional Musical Instruments: Janggu, Buk, Sogo, Danso, Haegeum, Ajaeng, etc.
Traditional Clothing: Hanbok, footwear, Jokduri, Daengi, Binyeo, Samulnori costumes, etc.
Traditional Accessories/Goods: Fans, Bojagi, etc.
Traditional Furniture: Folding screens (Byeongpung) and other small, easily movable furniture pieces.
Miscellaneous props, etc.
